A view of a typical exposed timber interior. The very nature of the construction means that the Rotafix® low-intervention and least visible methods are ideal for repair of these types of components. In this particular instance, carrier beams have been substantially reinforced and sagging purlins repaired without the necessity to show the repair structure. All of the repair is carried out within the internal sections of the timber component.

These repairs were carried out to 11 separate arches, forming the original Ballroom roof, which had decayed over a period of years due to water ingress. Maysand Ltd. carried out the installation of both new components and re-assembled parts.

The arches were originally made in up to four major sections and the decay varied from arch to arch. Some were repaired in situ with Rotafix® patented TRS connecting repair units: two were partly removed and taken to our Workshop for use as patterns and were then rebuilt.

Factory prepared individual TRS units ready for site installation.

The Grand Apartments, one block from Piccadilly Station, have been completely refurbished as luxury flats, complete with glass Penthouse on the top. The arches now form a non-structural feature in the atrium style vestibule.
