Lock Gate Repairs Repair of Newport Docks (S Wales) Lock Gates.
Each gate consists of 300 tons of Green heart timber, bolted and glued to 300 tons of steel box construction. These gates were floated from Newport to Appledore Shipyard, North Devon for repair.
